They're so little!!

So, school started this week. Every year I seem to forget how small the freshman are. They are so little!! This year I co-teach 3 Principles of Science classes and 2 Biology classes. I also teach one Guidance class on my own. It's basically a study skills class for the SpEd kids on my caseload. I also started another of my masters classes this week, so I'm keeping pretty busy. I am just hoping to catch up on my sleep someday soon :-)

The Ultimate Gift

So, I saw this movie earlier this year and absolutely loved it. It's now on DVD, so you all can check it out. It's called The Ultimate Gift and it is a great story. It is one of those "feel good" movies, but I just love it and think you should all go out and watch it!! Let me know what you think when you do!

What a Ward!

So, I don't know what to think of my new singles ward. I actually don't know if it qualifies for a ward - there are only about 40 people in it! I don't think I have ever been in a ward this small. It's been kind of strange, everyone seems to know everyone else. Mary and I went to FHE tonight and were surprised by how many people came. For a small ward, they sure do have big turn outs at activities. Hopefully in a few weeks we'll fit in and it won't be so odd.

Summer is for Science

I've spent the last two weeks in a summer science institute sponsored by UNLV and the Clark County School District. I learned a lot and had a lot of fun. (That doesn't mean that I didn't have to deal with really annoying people, too!!) Anyway, here's a picture of our group on our field trip. We went to the Springs Preserve and it was ridiculously hot!!

Ouch!

So, of all the things I like about Vegas, the other people driving is not one of them. I was driving in the parking lot of my new complex and a car backed up right into me!! All I could think was, "Not my brand new car!" Anyway, here's what it looks like until I can get it fixed.

New Apartment

In case you didn't know, I moved into a new apartment a few weeks ago with my friend (and former mission comp) Mary. It's a great apartment, even if it is in an area I don't know too well. It's a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom with a gas stove and fireplace! Here are some photos.

The master bathroom (mine) even has a roman tub - it's huge! You could probably fit about 5 people in there. (It's like the tub in Bandon, only rectangular!)

I am still adjusting to living with a roommate again. I got kind of used to living on my own, but I definitely love having Mary here!

I'm Back!!

OK - so it's been forever since I wrote anything new. What can I say, it's been a busy summer! I worked with special ed. kids for all of July. I was hard work, and I was exhausted, but it was a lot of fun, too. Here's a picture of us having a picnic at Mt. Charleston.
